Biography
Councilmember Rich Pahls was elected to the City Council in 2013 and was re-elected in 2017. Rich serves as Chair of the Law Committee and is a member of the Public Works and the Human Resources/Library/Human Rights & Relations Committees. He also serves as a member of the Larger Cities Legislative Committee for the Nebraska League of Municipalities.
After attending and graduating with a Bachelor and Master of Science Degree from Fort Hays State University, Rich earned his Doctorate of Education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and began his career with Millard Public Schools. Rich has lived in the Millard area for more than 30 years while serving as a Principal at many of the Millard Elementary schools and an Administrator for the Millard Public School District.
Rich continued his public service as a Nebraska State Senator representing his southwest Omaha district for two terms. He was Chairman of the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee and a member of the Executive Board of the Legislature. This experience has strengthened Rich’s strong work ethic and his belief that the best solutions are found by effective communication and by working together.
Rich enjoys visiting many of the local restaurants in the mornings, listening to his constituents’ viewpoints and discussing municipal and state government issues over a cup of coffee.
