Bio for Mary Fraser Meints

A leading advocate for at-risk-children and youth in Nebraska, Mary Fraser Meints, is the Executive Director of Youth Emergency Services in Omaha, Nebraska.  As an advocate for homeless youth, Meints is on the board of Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless.  Under Meints’ leadership, Youth Emergency Services has grown services to serve youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and near-homelessness.  Meints strives for systems improvement in her work to end youth homelessness. 

Her many years of experience in the world of child welfare and juvenile justice provide a good basis of knowledge in working with the at-risk and homeless populations served by YES.  Meints has worked directly with children and families and served in administrative roles with the Department of Health and Human Services and at Uta Halee and Youth Emergency Services.

Meints is currently serving on the Young Adults Voluntary Supports and Services (Bridge to Independence) Advisory Committee), focused on the implementation of the law to provide benefits to young adults who have been in the foster care system
