Carol has been a Rotarian since 2005 and was President of her club, Rotary Club of Council Bluffs, in 2010-11. She has served District 5650 as District Trainer, and Area Governor. During her year as District Governor, Carol’s primary focus will be on increasing member diversity and building a strong sense of belonging in the Rotary Clubs of District 5650. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and sustaining member of The Rotary Foundation. Her Rotary awards include: 2013 Rotary International Avenues of Service Citation; 2016 and 2018 District Chair of the Year; and 2017 Rotarian of the Year for her Club. She is a facilitator for Rotary Leadership Institute – Heartland USA Division. Carol Horner is President and Founder of Synchronicity, Inc. She works with companies and organizations that want their employees, teams, and leaders to "be in synch" and make impact. Carol integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion in all her work. She is currently authoring a book about her Spiral of Accountability Model. Carol enjoys wine and scuba diving although not at the same time! She also enjoys exercise, sports, kayaking, golf, and the outdoors. Her favorite thing about being a Rotarian is her opportunity to be a part of saving the world! Cordaro Bio – Short Form April 1, 2022 A committed industry leader, Martie Cordaro is President of the Omaha Storm Chasers, the Royals’ Triple-A affiliate, and of Union Omaha, the 2021 champion USL League One franchise. Cordaro, the 2021 USL League One President of the Year, has worked in the Omaha sports scene since 2007. He was honored with the 2020 George Brett Award for Commitment to ALS and as the 2013 Baseball America Minor League Baseball Executive of the Year. In Omaha since 2007, Cordaro spearheaded the organization’s efforts to keep Triple-A Baseball in the metro. Since opening in 2011, Werner Park has welcomed over four million fans for games and events. The Storm Chasers won Triple-A National Championships in 2013 and 2014 and the club also hosted a successful 2015 FNBO Triple-A All-Star Game. A Louisiana Tech University graduate, Cordaro (48) is a native of Ruston, La. He and his wife, Sara, have three sons, Gavin (26), Collin (18) and Cass (13). His passion for the local community is highlighted by his work with the ALS Association and Omaha West Rotary. In addition to baseball, he enjoys college football, the New Orleans Saints, baseball’s Cubs and Royals and all-things Star Wars. He also loves music and is a drummer in two local bands, Strange Pleasures and The Drawing Board. |

Warren Fish Warren is an Information Security consultant with 25 years of experience. Rebecca Deterding is the President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Omaha. She has served as the CFO for 7 years and as Interim CEO from August to March when she officially stepped into the CEO role. Rebecca is originally from North Platte, earned her undergraduate degree in business administration and accounting from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, her MBA from Bellevue University, and she holds a CPA certificate. She is the first woman to lead the YMCA of Greater Omaha in its 155-year history. She has been married to her husband Will for over 17 years and has two sons, Harrison, 8 and Jude, 6. |

Shirley Wichman works for the Nebraska Tourism Commission as the Industry Relations Coordinator. Shirley loves to share her passion for Nebraska with whoever will listen. She and her husband, Willie, both native Nebraskans, enjoy traveling the back roads, visiting with the locals and of course, cheering on Nebraska athletics. The mission of the Nebraska Tourism Commission is to expand Nebraska’s dynamic and diverse travel industry making it more viable by creating awareness, attracting increased visitors which results in greater tourism revenue and economic gain throughout the state. One of the programs we are avidly talking about this year is the Nebraska Passport Program. The purpose of the program is to help travelers discover many of Nebraska’s hidden gems. The program is special because it offers a wide variety of travel adventures, including museums, parks, restaurants, wineries, retail stores and more. |

Barbara recently retired as president of the Lincoln Community Foundation after serving for twelve years. She has nearly 50 years of experience in fundraising, program development, public engagement and teaching. Prior to coming to the Lincoln Community Foundation, Barbara was president of the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools for 18 years.
She currently is on the Chancellor’s Board of Counselors for the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Lied Center for Performing Arts Statewide Advisory Board and has served on numerous nonprofit boards in Lincoln.
Barbara was a College Board education ambassador to China. She is recipient of the Spirit of United Way award, named Woman of the Year for the Lincoln Journal Star Inspire Award and inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Nebraska Chapter.
She is past president of Lincoln Rotary Club 14 and Lincoln Rotary 14 Foundation. Barbara was selected to be Team Leader for Rotary International Group Study Exchange to India.
Barb is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and currently a member of the Paul Harris Society of The Rotary International Foundation.
Her favorite time is spent with husband, Bob, and their three children and families—just ask her about her seven grandchildren.

Propelled by a passion to keep her son's memory and sacrifice alive by paying it forward to others, Wendy Adelson, Gold Star Mother of United States Marine Cpl Daegan Page in collaboration with other family members founded the Cpl Daegan Page Foundation. Wendy's life has centered around raising her sons, volunteering for Boy Scouts and her church and a career spanning across non-profit work, pharmacy work and over 20 years focused on business process and client experience. Wendy and her husband Craig are long time Millard residents and have both spent the majority of their lives calling the Midwest home. On August 26th, 2021 her youngest son Daegan's life was taken from the world by a suicide bomber when Daegan and others we evacuating US and Afghan citizens at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. Blanketed by support from the Omaha community and the nation, Wendy knew she had to make good from the worst event of her life, and the concept of doing things the Dae Way was formed. Wendy is now fulfilling the role of Secretary of the foundation that has one mission: Help others live life the Dae way through experiences, adventures, and overcoming challenges. |

Derrick Sleezer earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1994. Derrick grew up on his family’s farm in northwest Iowa and currently lives in Papillion, NE. The family farming operation in Iowa continues to raise pigs and grow corn and soybeans. Today, Mr. Sleezer uses his farming knowledge as he works for Standard Nutrition Services, a business that produces approximately 900,000 pigs annually. Derrick Sleezer is the Product Design and Implementation Director for BarnVista, a cloud- based operation management software company based in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He also oversees compliance on animal welfare, biosecurity, employee and facility safety of Standard Nutrition Services sow production units. Derrick is a past president of the National Pork Board and has served in various other capacities within pork industry organizations.

Mick is a third generation Nebraska attorney who grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Texas and Creighton University Law School, He served 24 years in the USMC, primarily as a Judge Advocate. He deployed to four different conflicts throughout his career and has a specialty in International Law. He retired to Omaha in 2013 with his wife and 4 daughters. He started the nonprofit Veterans Legal Support Network in 2015 to address the legal support needs of Veterans and their families. He is an adjunct professor at Creighton Law School and works at National Indemnity Company as a mild mannered IT Regulatory Compliance analyst and Business Continuity planner. He is also a board member for the Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Memorial and helped establish the Nebraska Veterans Treatment Courts and works with Creighton Law Students and VLSN on discharge upgrades and helping incarcerated veterans. |

Christi Krehbiel began her career at Omaha Christian Academy as an elementary teacher, later teaching at the middle and high school level. In 2013, she joined the faculty at the University of Nebraska at Omaha as an instructor for the College of Education in the undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation program. After six years in higher education, Christi returned to Omaha Christian Academy to serve as Head of School and Principal, where she has the opportunity to interact with high schoolers one minute and don a tiara the next to read books to the 3-and 4-year-olds at their annual Princess party. Christi grew up in Millard, attending Montclair elementary and Millard North Middle School. She and her husband Gary have 4 grown children and will become grandparents in April. |
